We ask that all new members complete a preliminary survey when they first register. The instrument we use for your community is the Major Depression Inventory developed by Dr. Per Bech and colleagues. We have also added a few questions about your disorder and symptoms. Complete the Survey.
The MDI returns an overall score which has been shown to reliably reflect current disorder severity. You can also see the number of symptoms which meet clinical significance. Left Panels: Here we show the average scores of Mendus members classified as severe, moderate, mild or not having depression, as well as their average symptom counts. The pie chart shows the percentage of individuals scoring in the 4 severity categories. Right Panels: To see your own results type your ID into the box below the upper right graph. While informative this scale should not be used for diagnosing depression without consulting a physician. Until more people complete the survey our average will be probably be misleading.
