We ask that all new members complete a preliminary survey when they first register. The instrument we use for your community is the Routine Assessment of Patient Index Data (RAPID-3) developed by Dr. Pincus. We have also added a few questions about your disorder and symptoms. Complete the Survey.
Upper Panels: The preliminary questionnaire you filled out returns an overall score which has been shown to fairly reliably reflect current disease severity. While the scale was designed for rheumatoid arthritis it has also been used with Ankylosing Spondylitis (AKS). To see your own results replace the **** in the box with your ID (below the upper right graph). The upper left panel displays the averages for 'Near remission', Low Severity', 'Moderate Severity' and 'High Severity' (of Mendus members). The error bars on each bar indicate the range of scores classified as that severity level. While informative this scale should not be used for diagnosing AKS. Further, until more people complete the scale it is likely that our average will be misleading.
Lower Panels: The left side graph shows the average degree of severity (in our community) for specific body areas known to be implicated in arthritic conditions. These are displayed for Ankylosing Spondylitis as well as Rheumatoid Arthritis (RMA). The circle to the right displays the number of people who have contributed data, from the AKS and RMA communities.
